Did you know that Papua is one of the few places in the world where you can easily see and swim with whale sharks? These majestic, endangered animals can grow up to 12 meters! It is a special experience to get to swim with these rare, enormous creatures that are known to be very gentle and docile. This is one of Papua’s most exclusive trips!
The mass presence of whale sharks on the coast of Papua can be explained by the activity of fishermen. Over the years, fishermen and whale sharks have gained a mutually beneficial relationship as the sharks are attracted by the fish that escape from the nets or are rejected by the fishermen. On the other hand, the whale sharks offer protection to the fishermen by keeping other predators away. During this tour you will stay with a friendly local Papuan family, giving you a good chance to see the local life style upclose!
We are well-aware that whale sharks are currently listed as a vulnerable species. They are continued to be hunted in other parts of Asia, even though it is now strictly illegal under the international law. In Cendrawasih bay, besides the fishermen, the local people have now also a chance to benefit from the tourism related to seeing these beautiful animals. We actively monitor the safety and professionalism of the swimming activities when we visit them.

Day 1:
Nabire-Arrival – Sowa Village– Ojabo Homestay
After arrived at Douw Atarure Nabire Airport, meet by your Guide, buy meals at local market then by car drive go direcly to the Sowa Village about 3 hours. Waiting for the boat and go to Ojabo Homestay about 30 minutes by boat, on the way to homestay we stop at several fishing platform and snorkeling with the whaleshark and continue to homestay, at homestay dinner and stay overnight.
Day 2
Ojabo Home stay – Watching Bird of Paradise -Whale Sharks – Homestay – sowa village – Nabire
Wake up in the morning at 05.00 am, about 30 minutes by speed boat trekking through mangrove go watching BIRD OF PARADISE on top of the hill watching for 1 hour until the sun rise, back to Ojabo homestay and breakfast, at 08.00 am go to fishing platform and snorkeling until lunch time back to Ojabo Homestay. Prepare and back to Nabire, Dinner in local restorant and stay overnight at Nusantara Hotel
Day 3
Nabire-Departure
After breakfast at Nusantara hotel by car transfer to the Douw Aturure Airport to check in and fly to the next destination.

WHALESHARK TOUR PACKAGE | ( 4D/3N)
Experience the best of 4 Days 3 Nights in Cendrawasih Bay, Nabire to swim with the great whale shark.
Day 1 :
When you arrive in Nabire. You will be picked up by local guide and same day heading to Soa and enjoy the beautiful sunset and delicious local sea food and prepared by local resto & prepare for whaleshark tour tomorrow.
Day 2:
On the second day, early in the morning you will go to Whaleshark spot in. The giant fish will be feed at fisherman’s Bagan. You will go there by local’s boat. Before swimming with whale sharks, you will be given directions and rules when swimming with whale sharks. You will enjoy the sensation of swimming with the giant fish. After lunch, you will prepare to go back to Soa beach | Relax, Dinner, Rest
Day 3
On the Third day, early in the morning you will go to Whaleshark spot in . The giant fish will be feed at fisherman’s Bagan. You will go there by local’s boat. Before swimming with whale sharks, you will be given directions and rules when swimming with whale sharks. You will enjoy the sensation of swimming with the giant fish. After lunch, you will prepare to go back to Nabire and take a rest before leaving tomorrow.
Day 4
We will pick you up early to the airport before boarding time. We will gladly help you to prepare everything you need before your departure.
