Day 1: Arrival & Acclimatization

Morning: Arrive at Port Moresby (POM). Connect to flight PX180 (POM/HGU), departing at 08:30 and arriving in Mt. Hagen at 09:30.
Transfer: Our team will meet you at the airport and transfer you to Mailke Village.
Afternoon: Settle into the guesthouse. Enjoy a light afternoon hike around the village vicinity to begin acclimatizing.
Overnight: Mailke Guesthouse (L, D)

Day 2: Trek to Giluwe Base Camp

Trek: Today involves a 6-hour ascent. You will move through lush tropical rainforest before emerging into high-altitude alpine grasslands.
Destination: Arrive at the Mt. Giluwe Base Camp.
Overnight: Base Camp (B, L, D)

Day 5: Trek to Lake Piunde

08:30: Begin the 5-hour trek to Lake Piunde. The trail winds through ancient moss forests and open grasslands, ending at the stunning glacial lake at the base of the mountain.
Overnight: Lake Piunde Hut (B, L, D)

Day 4: Overland to Kegesugle

Transfer: A scenic 6-hour drive from Mt. Hagen to Kegesugle Village, located at the foot of Mt. Wilhelm.
Note: This drive takes you through the rugged and beautiful Simbu Province.
Overnight: Kegesugle Guest House (B, L, D)

Day 3: Mt. Giluwe Summit & Return to Mt. Hagen

05:30: Early breakfast.
06:00: Commence the summit push. After a 6-hour round trip including photo sessions at the peak, return to base camp for a light lunch.
Afternoon: Break camp and trek down to the pickup point. Transfer back to Mt. Hagen town.
Overnight: McRoyal Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 6: Mt. Wilhelm Summit & Descent

01:00: Early wake-up and breakfast.
01:30: Commence the summit trek to reach the peak by sunrise. After enjoying the views, descend back to Lake Piunde for lunch.
Afternoon: Continue the descent to Kegesugle Village. Enjoy a warm shower and a celebratory dinner of fresh local trout and vegetables.
Overnight: Kegesugle Guest House (B, L, D)

Day 7: Return to Mt. Hagen

08:30: Drive back to Mt. Hagen, reflecting on the two summits achieved.
Afternoon: Free time to rest or explore the local market.
Overnight: McRoyal Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 8: Departure

Morning: Transfer to Mt. Hagen Airport for your return flight PX181 (HGU/POM), departing at 10:00.
