Disc 17: Dani Dogum: Trekking to the Dani, 9 days
A varied tour focusing on learning and experiencing Dani culture rather then trekking for long distances only. It combines sightseeing with a 4 days adventurous trek. However upon request we can extend the amount of days trekking and take you further into Dani country. However keep in mind that trekking deeper into the Baliem valley does not always mean that the villages are more traditional.
Accommodation used is basic but sufficient but can be upgraded in Sentani (Sentani Indah Hotel or Swiss Bel in Jayapura) and Baliem valley (Baliem Valley Resort around 30-45 minutes from Wamena) if necessary.
Day 1. Arrival in Jayapura, excursion Lake Sentani
Day 2. Flight from Jayapura to Wamena, transfer to Jiwika and Dogum (B,D)
Day 3. Dogum – Wamena (B,L)
Day 4. Wamena – Hitugi: first day trekking (B,L,D)
Day 5. Hitugi – Yarima – Syokosimo (B,L,D)
Day 6. Syokosimo (B,L,D)
Day 7. Syokosimo – Wamena (B,L)
Day 8. Wamena – Jayapura (B)
Day 9. Jayapura, departure to your next destination
