a island has many kinds of herbal medicine plants. One of the herbal medicine plants is Pandanous Conoideus (red fruit). In highland areas mainly there are five kinds of pandanus sp. called “Sak”. Sak wou, Yuala, Olomuk, Munani,
Heiwa, and so fort. The local people boil it and take it as an alternative medicine for their eyes, heart diseases, breast cancer, lungs problem, hernia and many more. This plant can only be found in Papua and the world starts to get interest in its medicinal benefit, but not many people in the world knows this plant. Testimony of pandanous conoideus appeared so many that its strengthen the conviction about the success on treatment then its popularity increase amazingly developed in the trade of Indonesia.

Papeda atau bubur sagu, merupakan makanan pokok masyarakat Maluku dan Papua Makanan ini terdapat di hampir semua daerah di Maluku dan Papua. Papeda dibuat dari tepung sagu Pembuatnya para penduduk di pedalaman Papua. Tepung sagu dibuat dengan cara menokok batang sagu. Pohon yang bagus untuk dibuat sagu adalah pohon yang berumur antara tiga hingga lima tahun.Mula-mula pokok sagu dipotong. Lalu bonggolnya diperas hingga sari patinya keluar.
Dari sari pati ini diperoleh tepung sagu murni yang siap diolah. Tepung sagu kemudian disimpan di dalam alat yang disebuttumang.Papeda biasanya disantap bersama kuah kuning, yang terbuat dari ikantongkol atau ikan Mubara dan dibumbui kunyit dan Jeruk Nipis.
